Hi all. Have been browsing for a while now and may take the plunge in the new year. This one has caught my eye:

Does anyone know the car or have any thoughts on it?

TIA
Ted

Hi and welcome to the Forum

No knowledge of the car but looks good spec and minimal mileage for age.
Service history will be worth a check to ensure all services and all important first service - number of owners?
Looks a bit expensive.....?

Yep, not a fan of that armrest but I assume it can be extracted.

Does seem at a slight premium but happy to consider it if that's any indication of condition rather than just the dealer being cheeky.

Had 3 owners - not too unusual for a car that age so that doesn't concern me. Not so sure what the 'satin' finish bonnet is about though?

Arm rest looks like a LeatherZ from US and are fixed with 3M tape so can be removed. I personally like them being, at a more comfortable height than the standard bit of padding.

I would want the dealer to remove before collection to ensure it wasn't hiding some damage.

Lovely car I paid £17,500 from bmw for my Z4M coupe 3 years ago with 46k on it shows how these are appreciating :(

Nothing wrong with a bit of appreciation...
The ze86 is still a stunning car, I still go ooh when I see another on the roads :)

I think the price is about right for the mileage and spec from a dealership providing all service history is correct.
I bought mine privately recently in the same colour with similar spec but for slightly less. The only thing that would put me off is the satin bonnet, maybe use that being non standard as a bargaining point?

Didn't even notice that initially. It's horrible - just looks like the bonnet has been primed and is ready for a proper coat of paint! The bonnet costs a fortune too; both the part and the cost of a respray.

I like the other mods - anthracite wheels etc - and the pricing is about right for a dealer car. Plus it doesn't have front discs from a 2.5, which is always a bonus. :poke: :D

Deal done. Pick it up next week.

Bonnet wasn't as bad as I expected. Car was otherwise in superb condition. Will probably get the bonnet resprayed in due course.
