Not a car I recognise. Advert says 104k. Pics show 102+. Has it been for sale before or have they just come back from a european blast?

engines are pretty bullet proof but I'd check the service history to make sure it's comprehensive if you're thinking of buying it. Looks ok for the money though.
 
advert says that from 73k its been independently maintained-could be a very good or a very bad thing in my eyes.

up to 73k it was BMWSH.
 
A decent independent could be better. Again, you need to ask and find out if it's been to the same one. If so, get the name of the garage and check them out.
 
If its been looked after well then the mileage wont be a problem for a 3litre car, ive heard of them reaching 250/300k miles. In many ways its better to pile the miles on than it is to buy a low mileage car thats only done short trips.
If the engines dont get hot enough, for long enough it can cause problems with blocked ccv's & gummed up oil rings.
