Hi Mike,
I see you are in Merseyside, I am in Southport & have the transport mode issue with my Z. How much would you charge to fix? Could you please PM me as i am unable to PM due to being a new member. Thank you. Chris.

Mike's on his way to sort my dodgy key problem out, I'll mention it to him when he gets here.

Please do mate, i'd really appreciate that! I'd be very interested to speak to him. Thank you!

Thank you TonyP!! I didn't know that at all tbh, maybe i just need to be more patient haha I've just diagnosed it myself & found out what it is, so when i saw this forum i was like go go go!

Yes, I'm sure Mike will be able to sort it for you. He did me a key and some rear brake pipes last year - great job and very reasonable price! :)

But you may need to give him a bit of time to reply given what he is dealing with just now - see here:-

I am in Stockport, just bought a Z4 and the battery has gone flat and its gone into transport mode. Anyone local able to help delete it?

Hi
Battery on my 2004 2.2 Z4 went flat due to lack of use over winter.
Heater fan now blowing slowly and rear demist not working
Assuming from reading previous posts its gone into transport mode.
Does anyone know any indy in the North East area who could reset this for me please?
Cheers

If you want to equip yourself with some Diagnostics that will give you the means to access the Transport Mode I can reccomend BMW Scanner 1.4 on a laptop. It is a good package and will read all modules fitted to a car. It is also capable of taking the car out of Transport Mode, it will not delete it but allow you to change the status to normal operation. For the money its a bargain bit of kit. I also have INPA and a handheld Creator 310+ which is also a handy tool to keep in the boot. Although Transport Mode appears in the Creator 310+ menu it is not functional when its selected, still being developed for that, next download version may include that so it works. They ship the Creator with version 11.9 and their lates update download is version 12 which only added a battery registration option to the main menu fort owners with cars that rerquire battery coding. Still awaiting for the Transport Mode to be released in a future update. Did email them in China asking when it was likely to be updated but not had any reply so far. BMW Scanner 1.4 is available on ebay and Amazon as is the Creator 310+.

Hi
I've had a look at the diagnostic you recommend, and was wondering if this can also be used to reset an airbag light?
Many thanks
John

Hi John
Yes BMW Scanner 1.4 on a laptop will read the airbag module for codes and clear them as long as the fault is rectified. I did have an airbag code that it wouldn't clear and neither would BMW INPA. Invested in a Creator 310+ and that fouind the fault I had and cleared it first go, it was one of the satellite modules in the B post that I had upset by switching the ignition on when I had the seat removed from the car so self inflicted in my case. The Creator will do all the modules on the car and is handy to keep in the boot, more portable than the laptop.
BMW Scanner 1.4 is worth having if you do want a laptop based system, its far easier to use than BMW INPA if you are new to diagnostics.
