Anyone know about WIFI boosters?

I have this problem and have tried all sorts wireless boosters, wireless bridgining with multiple routers, wired routing, latest 300N high range hubs etc etc

None have solved the problem, one thing I'd like to stress is your route location is key, we have to have our on the outside of the house because of connectivity points however its not good for range as a result.

My Wifi signal has to penetrate up to 4 solid walls to get around my house. I've had the same problem but after experimentation I've found that there's a DIY solution to this problem and here's a photo of my Heath Robinson solution. I use two unwanted CDs to reflect the signal from the aerial in the directions that I need a signal and I've also wrapped a long piece of copper wire around the antenna to extend the effective length to about 2.5 metres.

They're selling Wifi boosters in Lidl this week (3 year warranty). at £19.95(?)

Surely this is not serious?

Cheeky C*NT! Contrary to your opinion, still with the same lovely woman for probably longer than you've been born

Nothing wrong with a technical man..they can fix things I can't. Very useful to have around

Or do the cheap method - Place a tin foil shield around a section of the router to amplify the direction you want the signal to go

I watched this on the gadget show and it increased the signal from the end of my garage from 1 to 3 bars

Done quite a bit of work with wifi and just remember, a strong signal does not mean strong throughput.

Can you explain why not, in simpleton terms?

Unless you've been married 41 years its unlikely. Bet you've got one of those magnifying things in front of a 14" CRT portable to make it look like a 40" tele. Genius!!

Been together longer than that but not married for quite as long. Some of us know a good thing when we see one! 8)

Think of it like a phone, you can talk clearly to the phone, but a poor line will screw the conversation up
