Anyone know about black box insurance?

Daughter has gone away to uni and left car at home
She has a black box fitted as only passed test last year
I've heard that the car will need to be driven whilst she's away otherwise it triggers an alert via the black box and her driving score will go down

Is this correct? Don't mind driving it a little if so but not if this is an urban myth

Not certain if thats true, my son was in the forces and had a black box fitted on his first car and his score never changed as far as I am aware as I was the contact on the insurance due to his job - why don't you just call and ask them as maybe different companies have different rules.

Probably do the car good to have the odd run to be fair.

Unless dad increases the risk by going too fast everywhere :D

Depends on the policy I think, mine only measured mileage and the time of day I was driving, I haven't heard of any that penalize you for not driving the car worth checking with insurers
