Anyone Intrigued by the....Toyota?

If engineering is referred to fuel economy, emission, power, etc., then look at the below figures (from TopGear magazine).

BMW 320d: 58.9mpg, 125g/km, 175bhp, 258lb/ft, 7.9sec.
Honda Accord 2.2i-DTEC: 50.4mpg, 148g/km, 148bhp, 258lb/ft, 9.6sec.
Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 DI: 44.8mpg, 165g/km, 138bhp, 229lb/ft, 9.6sec.
Toyota Avensis 2.0 D4: 47.9mpg, 157g/km, 175bhp, 295lb/ft, 8.5sec.

No doubt Toyota is the best Japanese car maufacturer, but the figures show Avensis is not the best here. BMW is now probably the best diesel car manufacturer in the world. :D

ksher, why such vitriol towards Toyota ?, you're coming accross as a bit of a tyrant imo.Toyota's aren't that bad, and BMW aren't that brilliant in terms of reliability. Sticky steering on Z4's is a safety recall if ever I saw one,but it never happened.Only customers who complained under warranty got their cars fixed, everyone else had to pay.BMW should've been shot for not recalling these cars, nothing short of disgraceful.Take your blinkers off my friend.

I did not disagree with Toyota's reliability, I was saying BMW makes better car in terms of advanced technology compared to its rivals, i.e. lower emission, higher performance and efficient engine.
