Anyone had much investment success with a licence plate?

Ive had my plate for some 10 years , bought it just as the Gs were released by Swansea , G3RRY was gone, that went for some £1800 , mine G3RYY, 750 ,dont see it as an investment , being honest, it is a status symbol 
,,,,,,,, and it conceals the age of the car ( not so on here as everyone knows Maldives blue is 2003/ 2004 ). I bought my daughter T9SH G , for her 17th birthday , £250 , all her freinds call her Tash , however, her mother hates it, she reads it as 'to shag'. 
. What are they worth now ? , reckon not much more than I paid for them

Just have my initials and a number on mine 
Many years ago I bought A8 LUR from the DVLA for £150, it lived on my Renault GTA for a while as 'A BLUR' I was only 21 and thought it looked great, actually I still think it did! I eventually sold it on when I entered the real world and made a good margin. The same day I bought that, a colleague got 'A1 ANW' for the same money, Alan Williams, I suspect if he's sold that he made more than me.........
