Anyone had a custom exhaust fitted? Recommendations? (23i)

I've done some searching on here and there are two camps.

Camp 1: Why would you get a different exhaust?

Camp 2: The 35i owning, full exhaust buying, endless budget camp :P

I am after a little more noise from the little Z and options for pre made exhausts seem to be extremely limited and expensive.

I've emailed a few companies locally but with little in the way of a solid reply.

So has anyone had one, fitted, can recommend me someone or just point me in the direction of a good company that actually want to do business lol. I am in the North West but willing to travel.

Many thanks

I gave proflo a call. They're based in Bradford and we're going to do a custom backbox in stainless for around £150. They said it would have whatever tip you wanted and could make it sound however you want. Haven't got round to doing it myself yet.

Ok it's on... Westgate Tyres Morecambe have quoted me £395 for a full power flow exhaust system.... Next Friday it is then!

Anyone done a one to two on the back boxes off a 23i.
Thought about just fitting a false second exhaust, just for show and keep a balance to the rear.

£395 seems a bargain.
Last full exhaust I was quoted for a car, back in 1993, RX7, was £1000.

thanks for that , i'm taking my V6 to Zorstec in Shipley during the week for them to take a look & give me a quote for similar job so will try Proflo as well

I'm not sure if it can be done, because I've not seen the exhaust for the e89 yet, but I remember that the e85/86 chaps did a mod to their OE exhaust, where a bypass pipe was fitted cutting out part of the silencers. We used to do it on the s2000's too.

Has anyone tried on the e89?

I can highly recommend a company called styledynamix (longlife distributers) in West London. Not sure its worth the trip from NW tbh but they have done my last 3 cars, my brothers and countless forum buddies. I can recommend them for product quality, customer service and after care. Only problem is you are quite a distance and ideally a local custom exhaust place would be better
