Anyone had a Apple Car Play Double Din Car Stereo?

Hi all,

Thinking for adding a new stereo to the daily driver.

I have been looking at Double Din Stereos and have found Apple Car play systems too.

Are these worth the extra over a standard system?

Any advice?

Its been a while since I have bought a headunit as you can probably tell!

Yeah, I had the Pioneer one in our old Golf.

It was ok. Carplay is a bit basic with limited apps, but I think more are being released. I know BBC iPlayer Radio released their Carplay app the other day. Shame Waze isn't compatible yet.

Apple maps works ok though, iPod and Spotify work really well.

A few videos on Youtube shows how it works. Probably worth getting one over a non Carplay stereo, yeah. The Pioneer SPH-DA120 is a decent head unit for the price.
