As per the thread title, does anyone have a helicoil kit for the split rim bolts? I believe they are m7x1.0.

Much aappreciated :-)

I have helicoils but not m7! I will check at work to see if we have a m7 x1.0 tap if I do I will send it with a drill and the tool to wind helicoils in with. But m7 is a weird size.

Cool sounds good! There is a full kit on ebay for 30 quid so was really trying to avoid that expense :-) if it comes to it though not necessarily an issue!

Kinda getting depressed with the whole refurb project really as it takes so long to do, and the tools for stripping all the paint and corrosion soon add up too! When I get myself a new place it'll have a garden slash shed to work in :-)

Yeah i know that feeling had the same with my wheel project. But the end results will be great

If you can get the helicoils i can send you the rest. Just be very careful drilling them out and then very careful tapping the hole after. Hove you got a bench drill i wouldn't do it with a hand held. Make sure the tap is straight and square and i turn forward half a turn back and use a suitable cutting oil.

PM me if and when and i will sort out some tools. You will need a 7.25 drill i can send you one and you will need to know how deep the holes are so you can order the correct inserts.

Looks like the one on ebay, only cheaper! Great thanks!

Yeah my dad has a pillar drill and we have removed the stud so just need to helicoil it!

Cheers fellas.

Yea they are sold all over the place but they are manufactured by a German company.

They will sort you out, really easy to use and comes with everything requires.

I would use a proper tap wrench to cut the thread as it will help you to get the tap straight rather than using a spanner.
