You take a gift, put it in a pile, draw numbers and the first person picks something from the pile. next person picks a gift or takes a previously chosen gift. gifts can be taken twice before being safe. first person to go has an additional last pick of the prezzies..

works well with a large party of guests and alcohol.

everybody brings a wrapped gift of a maximum value. Put them all in a pile, then draw numbers from a hat, #1 picks a gift and opens it. #2 then has a choice.. pick a gift or take the opened gift. #3 then has a choice , pick a new gift or take a previously opened gift. If your gift is taken from you , you then get another turn immediately...

suppose I'm #15... I can pick a gift from the pile or take any one of the previously opened gifts. if #12 took a gift from some one else and I like it i can take it. once the gift has been taken twice it is safe and can't be taken again. It s a game of strategy and can involve tactical allegiances.

I was at one last year and nobody wanted the christmas cake so I took it....yum!

It's just the not Politically Correct name given to it here.....you could call it a Scouse or a Geordie gift exchange if you like. I won't mind :D

Secret Santa is usually where you 'anonymously' buy a gift for a particular person, at least that's what happens when in our office! Like the gift exchange idea though, mixes it up a bit, could be fun!
