I have an obd2 thingy that I use with torque pro on my phone.

I tried to download this to give it a go but it's not available for UK users at the moment.

Can you just use the cheap OBD things on ebay with Torque? Assume you have a bluetooth one?

I have installed one made by http://www.automatic.com. While interesting, I have not found it too usefull except for making me feel guilty about gassing the Zed at every possible opportunity.
