Anyone For A Little Base-Jumping

Amazing stuff.

Almost as scary that my father climbed the face it in the early 1950's in winter and made global press about it. Stout boot, strap on crampons a few bits if sizal rope and off they went 8)

For sure. These old timers amaze me. He used to dump his girlfriend each Spring (later my mother) ride his Norton Dominator across Europe, climb mountains and then come back home to his day job as a rocket engine designer for RR.

The new guys like these base jumpers just have so much technology to take things way further.

Looks awesome, always wanted to do a skydive myself but have never got round to it. Or found someone insane enough to do it with me!

Would love to have a go at that. Doubt I'd ever be brave enough but I bet the sensation is amazing.

Mallory and Irvine - other stunning examples of bravery, determination and sheer guts; the memories of which seem to fade and indeed to get lost in our current high speed, techno world. :oldman:
