Anyone fitted any sort of remote start?

Found this really useful on a previous car. Leaning out of the window in the morning to start the car so by the time you go out its all warmed up, windows defrosted and ready for some :driving:

Has anyone fitted this to a Z4? Not sure if there are any complications around the factory fit alarm/immoboliser?

The other question is around the manual box, you don't want to 'remote start' it is you've left it in gear. A lot of modern cars know its in gear via the ECU?

Haha my old 3 had it, quite like having a key again. Think there is a thread on here somewhere and it is quite a task if I remember correctly.

Well technically I'm not an owner yet :) Tbh I'm probably worrying about something that won't be a concern anymore, I'm coming from an Elise where the heaters have less blow than an asymatic (sp?) grandma :/

If you have heated seats they get warm REAL fast. And the heaters are pretty good too - though I am sure they probably had to dial them down for delicate coupe skin :poke: :D
