Anyone fancy a small soldering job?

I’ve got a GROM setup in my E85 Z4 that uses the DSP converter, which I power directly from the battery. It plugs into the CD changer, and I ran a power feed from the battery using ring terminals and an inline fuse.

Looking back, I don’t think I did a particularly good job on the wiring. I used crimp connectors to extend the cable, and after chasing a “no sound” issue I’ve found a couple of the crimps are pretty poor and have started pulling apart.

Rather than trying to bodge it again, I’d really like the little loom remade properly with new wire, soldered joints, heat shrink and ring connectors.

It’s only a small loom. I’ll supply the DSP lead, the inline fuse holder and the new wire cut to the correct length, so it’s really just a case of remaking it neatly.

Is anyone on here handy with that stuff who’d be willing to do it for me if I posted it over? Happy to cover postage, materials and pay you for your time too.

Otherwise I’ll order the tools from Amazon and have a go myself 🫤, but if I’m honest I can’t see myself doing enough soldering in future to justify buying everything for this one little job.

Cheers Jason
