Sooooo....what colour you having then Gaz.... :P

I saw the one in Williams at weekend ..

I had to use the toilet ..

I honestly cannot think of a worse looking “ sports” car for sale at the moment.

Then you have not seen the Veyron Diamond Edition.

mansory_vivere_diamond_edition_01.jpg

An fundamentally ugly car, further decorated with bird s**t.

Park it on my drive and shove the keys thro the letterbox before you leave please!

Hah. No way would the key fit. The fob is probably a Faberge Egg.

I can't see how the G29 can be that ugly. It hasn't tried hard enough, design-wise. It's just a bit "meh".

Suspect it drives very well, by most people's standards. You can see how cars like the current RS5 etc. got luke warm receptions from the likes of Evo (compared to M4 comp pack etc) but are turning out to be pretty epic cars to live with on a day to day basis.

I don’t want a one with a tin hat or a 4cyl
For me, It has to be a wind in the bald patch and a big engine!

I do see the appeal of a convertible! Be interested how much of a move it is from the 35iS, on paper they looks pretty evenly matched but we’ll see how the looks stack up in real life. I’m a little bit miffed that they’ve allowed the Z4 to lag behind its counterparts AGAIN though. Why won’t they put all the 3 series equipment in them? Where’s surround view, hud, active cruise etc etc.

:?

10” or so screen centre, screen for the dashboard, head up display available, adaptive cruise available, it’s all there.

My bad, I got lost on the terrible configurator! I still don't think it's a ~£52k car, that is serious money and gets you into some serious cars. In 2-3 years when they're 25k yes they might be a good buy, but I don't feel like it's moving the game on from the E89 apart from interior uplift.

BUT I haven't seen/driven it yet.

And that is the take away for most people... Cars have to be more multipurpose now, dailies not all out weekenders.

HUD and adaptive cruise....

Mega..... Or it was when i had them on my 5 series 3 generations ago..

:? :?

Was at the presentation today , they gave me info bout mine ; car will be here in 2 weeks (so 4-5 weeks early)

I went and had a look at the Stansted dealership. To be fair, on very first glance it looks very striking, it's an interesting looking car with creases in places that aren't normal on a BMW. I've definitely changed my view on it, it's much better in the metal....but does feel like a car designed for the US market, it looks very wide for the UK roads. I really like the interior (apart from weird trim design), you sit low in the car, the boot is a very good size (two medium sized suit cases), wheels look a tad small in the arches, 20's would work, the exhaust design is a better take on the fake exhaust than most new cars, diffuser is lovely, paintwork is very nice, seats are nowhere near as good as the M4's.

It feels like I'm back in 2003 again with the E85 and 986....today the Porsche 718 is positively dull in a straight looks comparison, very simple, subtle and forgettable. The Z4 I looked at was a £55k car and I think it feels like reasonable value for a new car, but buy that today and you've got to think you'll lose £20k within 12 months in my view. Some folk won't be bothered by that, I can't afford not to.

The missus likes it a lot, but she quickly went from that to the M4 Comp and then the M4 CS.....which is only another £5k extra. You'd have to be bonkers mad to buy the Z4 at £55k when you could get a M4 CS for just that bit extra, the carbon bonnet is a lovely thing!

Yep, Elms Stansted have a 200 mile white M4 CS for £63k and the chap said they'll take a bit more off that if I want it...it's lovely, beautiful car.

Just checked Autotrader and there are 20 cars around the £60k mark if you really want one. Given it was a £90k car new it feels like a good buy and 'shouldn't' lose that much more over the next 2 years. :driving:

It's hardly a used car is it....those folk who paid the full £90k+ for these new must be feeling it now...ouch

So, for the people who are ordering the Z4, did you consider the 'lightly used' M4 CS before placing your orders?

Is not a convertible , it´s used.

Unless you're very rich and don't care, most people buying a BMW work to a budget and get the best bang for their buck....and buying a £55k Z4 feels like a bad choice if you can get a M4 CS for a little more. The Z4 will be a £35k car within 12 months....if you're lucky.
