one thing about a litre bike . I find them easier to ride than a 600 much less input, less gear changes less throttle twisting much wider power band. and they get to the speed you want to travel at quicker . I think in the twisties I'd much rather be on a 600. You get to use the bike more and it is a little more agile. Daily use I can see how a liter bike provides benefits, but its also not fun not to be able to use the bike to its potential, and I find it hard to use the full potential of a 600 much less a liter bike.
Yes, had bikes for years, started in about 1966 with bikes and scoots when I was 16, packed it all in when I got married at 25 and went back to it years later as a born again. I've not long done my CBT and theory test. Going to do my direct access once the weather gets a bit better. Went around the bike shops sitting on a few. Sat on a kawazaki Z1000 sx and just loved it. Roll on the nicer weather so I can have a choice of weekend toys to play with.
i have had loads over the years but gave up riding in 2002 when my son was born. i had a really bad accident on 1999 and spent 6 months in hospital learning how to walk again. i said i would never get on another bike but did. i do miss the bike but the zed with the roof off is a close second. i may get another one but am now looking at classics, love the look of them.
this was my LTD750 custom import not many of them over here back then let alone now.
but would love a BSA or something like that. this is my friends BSA B33 1943 he restored it about 8 years ago this is what i really want. its a single pot 500cc and sounds amazing :evil:

I now rent bikes once or twice a year and ride in foreign climes. Fed up with the UK traffic and the long (often windy and wet) hack through Northern France to get somewhere or back to the ferry
The Zed can be scarier than any bike simply because it will not fit in the same space as a bike yet is almost as fast.

Love them! Currently have a 1000rr Blade with all the goodies, remapped, pc3 go touring in Europe every year, must have visited most of the countries over time, inc the ring and surrounding areas which are epic. Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, holland, Switzerland Austria etc....all fantastic.
I take my bikes to Steve at Motrac racing and Jenny Tinmouth racing to get custom tuned and set up....

After 3 accidents and no serious injuries, I agreed with the wife (fiancee at the time) to calm down and concentrate on 4 wheels. As I'd also just joined up, think she was worried about the late night weekend trips. My most serious accident was on 4 wheels, not 2 (rolled a Celica 3 times down a hill....) and although I miss bikes, I wouldn't ride one now.

Europe is where it's at these days for biking (IMO), being doing trips there since the mid 80's. Did the Vecors in France this year, if you've not been give it a look, spectacular region and superb roads, every bit as good as the Alps and Pyrenees. Picos on the cards for next year.

I used to get 'Superbike' mag and owners used to send in photos - your photo rang a bell for me as I always thought the RG500 was special bike - can't have been you then :lol: . Very sought after now of course and what a design a square engine two stroke - magic (if you can get the parts to rebuild the engine carbs and inlet still?). Great photo by the way

Started biking by taking the old man's maxi puch (many years ago) out of the shed when he was out … fond memories of riding around the fields. learnt bike control by staying upright when going through the cow pats !
