how did you strip it?
If you've got a die some of that thread will reform where the crest of the thread has been pushed over and you might get enough contact on the reformed thread to torque it down - with a good splash of locktight. If you are as they say 'in a tight spot' for using the car.
Did you use the nut from the old strut on the new one?

Yup me too; been getting quotes for the damage done by some cretin who whacked my car whist attempting to park, before buggering off. Plus tax, MOT and Insurance are due this month 
Whole front bumper needs done due to some historical scuffs on the other side, so at least I'll finally get that sorted, but I could have done without it.

Got my replacement daily last week, so I need to tax it now - Band K so £315.
Then this morning the tax reminder for my Z4 came through the letter box so another £315 due by 30 April.
And the insurance on the daily is due for renewal on 24 April.
At this rate I might have to go back to working!

I'm with Sheila's Wheels for now, but given their silly renewal quote for my 330i I doubt I will be after renewal! Even if it does mean I no longer have handbag cover.

HBOS own or owned Shelias Wheels and Esure.
2006 Corsa is a 1.2 Active, 5 door and it's also a Steptronic. That's £295 for insurance.
2007 Z4 3.0SI Sport. £197 for insurance.
Multicar policy too.
Maybe you just live in a dodgy area with all those regular stabbings etc. that are on the news!
