Anyone else got their winter tyres on yet?

Interestingly I don't have that diagram in the ///M Supplementary manual, I probably have an older revision. There's just a paragraph mentioning snow chains can only be fitted when 225*40*18 tyres are fitted to the rear.

Cheers Guiseley - useful info. I was about to post asking about tyre pressures for 225/50/16's 
30f/35r does sound a bit strange though! I run 31f/33r on my staggered 225/40/18 & 255/35/18 setup. I'm going to start at 31f/33r on my 16" winters and go from there.
Actually, those who pressures quoted in that image above are weird: 3psi higher for Si models compared to 3.0i? Surely the Si isn't that much heavier?!

108's are 8.0" wide at the front and 8.5" wide at the rear, so you can safely fit 225/40/18's at both ends for winter. 225-width is better than 255-width in snow - the narrower the better (just look at snow tyres on rally cars).Trut01 said:Jeez, this is all quite confusing

I'm running staggered 108's on a 3.0si coupe. Can somebody please confirm what range of winter tyre sizes are OK, particularly on the rears
Alternatively (and what I'd do) would be to acquire a set of 17" OEM alloys and fit winter tyres to them using 225/45/17. Would save your 108's from even more corrosion and from winter potholes. 16" won't fit your Si, although I'm OK on my older 3.0i with it's smaller front brakes.
EDIT: robbing B-stards! Mytyres prices for the Kuhmo KW27's (225/50/16 92V) I bought have jumped from £70/each two weeks ago to £90.10/each this morning! VERY glad I bought mine two weeks ago. Supply and demand rules...

Good suggestion about running 17's. However, my love for the 108's runs deep, so my plan is to have two sets - one with winter tryes and one with summer. That way I get to leisurely reburb each set during 6 month window when they are off the car, and the zed doesn't have to be without them for an extended period.

I've finally got mine ordered, 4x 225*40*18 Continental TS830P.Thought might look a bit naff but same diameter size as the Si tyres (the fronts anyway). But 2.4cm smaller diameter than the M tyres, oh well, increased acceleration, fuel consumption and lower reading speedo.
Still lagging behind you guys - but reading the spec sheets of the Avon Ice Touring ST's linked to on Mike's post above, they state that rec rim is 8.0 but rim range is 7.5-9.0 for a 225/40R18. At about £100 each that sounds like that's the four for me on my staggered wheels.
