Anyone doing PDR from home?

The numbers out of Italy and Spain tell me that nearly all the people that died were either:

Nevermind guess it was a one off for u!

My 2 penneth worth. I'm not one to normally follow what I'm told, I use my common sense in most parts.
I work with my brother, sold trader partner ship on owning a hairdressers/barbershop. We've been in business 13 years this August and employ 2.
I have 2 boys (7&10) the 10 year old has asthma. My wife has a recently diagnosed heart problem and was due a heart op but obviously was cancelled due to this covid shitstorm.

Brothers wife has had asthma and is front line nhs, daughter also has Asthma. The 2 girls we employ, one of them has a mother with cancer, the other has a father with heart probs after having a heart attack.
My wife's place has shut ( she manages the local community centre) and our salon is shut.
We are now earning f**k all, (my bro, myself and my wife, by bros daughter works for a department store so is not earning jack.
I've had clients txting, phoning, emailing, bookfacing etc about getting their hair done as it needs it???? :o :o :o :o
My wife, kids, bro and his family and the 2 girls who work for us and their family's are more important than earning the pounds at the mo than doing selfish clients who think their hair is more important than that

Your dents can wait, it shouldn't even be a thought at the moment. So I'll say to you stay at home, don't call anyone out and try to fill your days and mind with other things positive.

Hell, we won't be able to claw back the money lost my bro and i, but keeping safe, everyone around you safe and well, your family etc is far more important than going to/calling a dent man out. When this shitstorm is over, fill ya boots kid, but until then

STAY AT HOME buddy

If someone can do their job, whilst respecting the current guidelines, then there should be no issue with them doing their job. For a lot of self-employed people, the government support will be too little and far too late, they still have to eat and they still have to pay their bills, so to expect them to stay at home when they can perform their duties and still operate within the current guidelines is no one's business other than their own.

You're missing the point. Sure most of those dying are old or have underlying health issues but you could be carrying the virus and not even know about it and then pass it on to someone who will be more venerable to it and they could get seriously ill or die! Or you could too, you might have an underlying condition and not know about it and then it will affect you as happened to a poor 19 year old lad here in Malaga. Like I said before many in the UK just aren't taking this seriously enough and the penalties for flouting this lockdown is way too lenient. You loose your health kiss everything else good bye.

Thank you for taking the time to provide translations, can you explain what your point was? :|

Strikes me it’s a hell of a way to find out if you do have an underlying condition!
I have had 2 strokes, so bugger anyone else, if you want to be a total dick and chance killing someone vulnerable ( I couldn’t care less if you kill yourself ) ... I am staying at home.

The numbers show a clear weighting towards older people with pre-existing medical conditions.

On a side note, I find it peculiar that smoking is not mentioned. But, hypertension can be caused by smoking, so maybe that's the link.

So, back to the pdf. Here are a few key points that stuck out to me.

  • Mean age of patients dying for COVID-2019 infection was 78
  • Overall, 2.8% of the sample presented with no comorbidities (pre-existing conditions) (that means 97.2% had pre-existing conditions, and 70.6% of those had hypertension, so maybe some/most were smokers)
  • As of April 2nd, 145 out of the 12,250 (1.2%) positive COVID-19 patients under the age of 50 died
  • 3 had no major pathologies (that's 0.2%)

Anyway, I'm doing my bit, I wear a mask when I go out and wash my hands on return. I don't go near people.

Do you understand that what we are currently doing is allowing the NHS to get prepared for a large amount of victims? We aren't curing the virus, and it's not going away. If you want to stay inside for a year, then fill your boots.

If you don't want to stay indoors, then be prepared to get it. We haven't got a vaccine, and we haven't reached herd immunity.

I'm baiting you dude, everybody knows what you were getting at, its insensitive and offensive, but now you haven't the balls to say it outright. Most of the victim's have pre-existing vulnerabilities so.... well go on you say it, you posted the chart.

Well now you are showing a new level of ignorance. Every now and then I start to think that the public are beginning to grasp the big picture, and then a thread like this brings me back down to earth with a bump. Let's hope knowledge continues to spread and reaches enough people before it's too late

OK, tell me your interpretation of what's going on. I'm staying indoors because.....???

[ref]Z4C_er[/ref] Something tells me it wouldn't be a good use of my time to write it all up for you. Please just take the time to listen to at least a couple of experts, and to the reasoning behind their instructions.
