Anyone changed auto gear knob to newer style ?

Left me wondering if anyone had already changed the older style auto gear knob for the later style one ?

I looked at this for mine, but was put off by the fact that it only 'looks' like the newer style DCT shifter and has a P button that won't do anything (that would just bug the hell out of me...). If you look at the auto shifters in the e89 they are actually almost identical to ours. That said, this comes in illuminated form as well, which looks better, just not sure the wiring will be there.

I keep wandering back to some of these - the carbon fibre one, and the ///M marked one in particular. But I think I'd rather have some sort of bi-colour all-leather one...

anyone done this, was wondering if you could get an updated shifter from the new e89's and then retro fit?
