Anyone been to Vegas?

Were there in October for 5 days at the end of a western US tour (hopefully in a Mustang but not holding our breath). We're stopping at Paris and used our BA Avios points which saved us in theory £800 as we went for a high spec room.

We've struggled with the budget a little in the past so stopped in Sahara, Riviera, Imperial Palace, Stardust, Circus Circus and Plaza downtown. Low end hotels but we've never really been disappointed at the quality.

Roll on hols 8)

Disappointed to hear Quarks bar has gone from the LV Hilton Star Trek Experience :(

Don't hold your breath for a Mustang. We had a road trip last year from Phoenix to San Fran last year.
The hire company (Alamo) wouldn't guarantee a Mustang but kept saying it was their standard convertible so we would almost certainly get one. When we arrived at the airport they offered a Mini convertible which we of course declined and ended up paying a premium to have a 4x4. In the end this was a much better option as most of the people we saw in convertibles over our 20 day trip either had the roof up & aircon on or were very pink & roasting.

Oooo Stu just seen the vid, looks scary. Brave man  . Thought you looked like you were going to be sick at the top at one point. Love the commentary from your team in the 2nd.

LA...a lot of people fly into LA even if going to Vegas...still a five hour drive...

Best thing to do is to book a cheap car and upgrade at the location

Be a cool drive though, no ?

Very cool drive!! We did a week in LA then a week in LV. Fantastic drive, good tacky stop offs too...

- We stopped off at the last road in the US map index called ZZXXYY or something like that and get a wee view of the Mojave
- The worlds largest thermometer
- Primm Valley Casino literally just inside Nevada state border and saw the former worlds largest roller coaster, although I wouldn't dare ride it, looked like it would fall over! (I think they also have Bonnie and Clyde's car there too).

A lot of Primm has been closed now as Vegas is suffering very badly in the recession, but still a laugh. In fact talk of his has made me start to plan a trip next month
