Anyone been to Vegas?

Las Vegas is the worst airport you will ever ever fly from. If Vegas has money, they forgot to spend it on the airport!!!!

Aria at City Centre is amazing if you like contemporary hotels, but lie, a lot of said on here, most of the others hotels rooms look tired after the 10 years or so they have been built....

Mirage has had a refurb, and rooms are lovely. Try and take in Love. The Cirque de Soleil show, based on The Beatles. Didn't think it would be my bag but it's amazing.
 
Not been for many years, so I won't metion the hotels as they have probably gone, Last time I was there was in November though and the weather was great. :thumbsup:
 
For hotels, I prefer Aria, Venetian or Bellagio. Avoid, Luxor, NewYork New York, and the lower end ones like Circus Circus unless on a budget.

I found the airport fine - flying First Class might have helped with that though :wink:

I normally do 3/4 days in Vegas combining it with another trip and find that enough........

The CheeseCake Factory anywhere in the US is a good option for cheap, good food, and cheesecake (but I've only ever taken it go as always full)....in fact I ate there last Sunday (the one in Atlanta though) and took my cheesecake through airport security to eat :D
 
Avoid Luxor like the plague....wrong end of the strip too.

Mandalay Bay is nice, as it has the Four Seasons on the top.....
 
Thanks for all the recommendations and advice folks. We have book to stay at The Signature at MGM Grand for 7 nights from the 12th November. Also booked 2 tickets for UFC 167 at the MGM. Just need to figure out what we want to do for the rest of our time over there.

Can't wait to go now.
 
MGM have some stunning loft apartments, sounds crazy I know, but ask them for an upgrade and see what they say

Hold on a sec....when I was in Vegas (admittedly late 90's) the Luxor was virtually bang opposite MGM Grand. Unless they've knocked it down and rebuilt it somewhere else how can that be a good spot and the Luxor a bad one!!! :)
 
Well MGM is a huge hotel, in fact it used to be the biggest and may well still be, and it takes up a very very largest site, and just holds more of the strip...also Luxor is very dark and too close to the 15, but just my opinion......

The Hotel in Mandalay Bay is excellent. As is The Bellagio. Heard good things about The Four Seasons too.
 
Govnor, thinking about it, think you'll find that the Luxor isn't opposite the MGM, in fact last time I looked there isn't anything opposite the Luxor......I could be wrong!!

Yes and that's kind of next door to the Luxor - a side road separates them but they are on the same side of the street. Maybe they've redeveloped the MGM because they are always knocking stuff down and rebuilding but I remember I looked out over the large lion thing they had on the entrance to the MGM grand when I stayed at the Luxor, and the MGM was all lit up in green neon at night back then.

Ah yes Excalibur and then NY NY was next to that. Excalibur had little towers with red domes IIRC.

Quite an exciting and busy fortnight - will need a holiday to get over my holiday methinks :rofl:

It's a very ncie place to eat... if a bit on the pricey side... IIRC our meal for 2 ended up about $380

Check out the chicken noodle soup in the diner too... very nice, and just what is needed at 5am! :wink:

I've been to Vegas 3 times before, and heading out again on Thursday.

Staying at the Vdara hotel this year.
