Agree I think running costs can be a little eye watering and you certainly don't want the gearbox going wrong...it still doesn't stop me lusting after them though

Other than the standard running costs being high, is there anything wrong with them?

I believe the engine is pretty solid but you do read quite a lot of gearbox woes and that's fine if its under warranty but wallet ruining if not.

Never seriouly considered one.

The MR is more fun, on the kind of road I play on. No motorways in Cornwall.

Would be a nice car to tour the continent in, but the roof would need to come off and that makes it a very heavy, slightly wallowy lump and it's just not special enough to put up with the downsides. So not lightly to ever be on my wish list.
