Anyone been to the Peloponnese region of Greece?

I will be in Isthmia/Corinth at the end of June and wondered if anyone had visited this region before and if so what there might be to do? The Corinth Canal, ancient ruins and Loutraki look like decent places to visit. Anything else you may know of?

I have a friend who lives at the head of the Corinth canal... His job is a tug driver,towing the boats through to the Saronic gulf...

I have visited him a couple of times but not for a while... There is a great castle in Corinth,the temple of apollo,Lake Doksa in Trikala....


Its not very "touristy"...But lovely non the less....It also gets very very hot if you like that kinda thing...

Thanks only there for 5 days and staying at a beach hotel for some R&R mainly (got a bargain deal with BA), I love the heat and sunshine so will be ideal. Thought I might explore as well while I'm there.

Saw an article on shed loads of immigrants invading Kos don't know we're this is in relation to your destination ,all sleeping rough amongst the tourists ,feel sorry for holiday makers who were not told when they booked ,have you checked this out ,I could not stand it ,I've seen enough over here,

I think the island of Kos is about 300 miles away from mainland Greece as the crow flies..

No doubt a lot of the islands are suffering this fate though

Never been to this region but we love Greece and go every year ( 5th July - counting the days ) imo you'll have a great time - Greek people are very friendly and totally laid back ( especially about H&S :lol: )

We went to Kos once and can understand why this is a target for refugees - it's very close to the Turkish mainland - your destination should be far enough away not to be affected .
