Had my iPad for about 18 months and it has worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago, it now keeps telling me either it can't find the server, or it looses its connection to the Internet. It will work for a while if I turn it off completely then back on again, but then can't find the server again !
Has anyone any ideas please, I hate things that are unreliable, next step is bin it and buy a new one?

Thanks in advance Roscoe

Have you tried a master reset (after backing up everything) ?
Tried apple on line help?
Good luck

Can't find the server sounds like an error you're getting in Safari? Are other apps that need to be online working ok? Facebook, tapatalk, twitter etc

Have you recently updated the iOS if so and regardless
Basic Apple troubleshooting
Restart
Reset hold home/sleep buttons until Apple logo appears ignore off slider (no data lost ,like a PC reboot)
Restore first with backup make sure yoiu have one
restore as new
If all that fails it is worth taking it to an Apple Retail store Genius bar
If it is failed and (out of warranty )
they will Exchange for a factory refurb unit and if an iPad/iPad2 == £199

Also if you have UPDATED TO THE LATEST IOS 6.1.3

WIFI is giving problems.!!

Especially if you have just updated to 6.1.3 and used the over the air update from the settings menu

Sounds to me like the problem is with your wifi rather than the Ipad.

Do you run any other computers on the same wifi router? Any probs with them?

Maybe try a factory reset on the router?

MANY THANKS to you all for your advice, here are the answers to the questions,
The other apps work ok, able to watch the iplayer with no problems although utube sometime will give a Playback Error message, other times ok.
Yes installed the recent update.
Not yet tried reset, consider this as a last resort. (Bit worried about it forgetting everything)
Might go to the Apple Store in Leeds next week if no improvement, must say like the idea of a replacement.
Updated iOS 6.1.3 last Wednesday seems to have made no difference.
Run my laptop from the same wi fi router and that works fine.
Today, so far,it's only lost the server once and Internet connection once.
Must say always manage to connect to the z4 site first time every time so not all bad then.

Again thanks for your advice, will keep you informed.

A RESET does not lose data like a PC reboot
A Restore does wipe the device
I reset all the time

Did you update over the air ,it has caused many issues WW ,in particular wifi issues
way to fix it is to restore which will download a full 6.1.3 iOS whereas the OTA update is a patch

Apple Store will have expected to to do the Basic Troubleshooting as I explained in earlier post
