Anyone an Android Genius?

I have managed to get my HTC One X running Cyanogenmod (nightlies) into a reboot cycle and having tried many things, cannot get it into recovery. This was accomplished by updating to a nightly build = instant reboot cycle fail.

I've pushed a new recovery image file via fastboot but then when trying to enter recover, I just get a black screen, nothing else. Factory restore does nothing either.

So, I've pushed a number of things at the phone one way or another so have no idea what the h*ll is going on with it but nothing has changed.

I cannot get it to show up on my PC as a USB mount so I can't drop files directly onto it, or format the internal memory and do a clean install.

Having not been able to get any joy in a few hours of trying, I'm not far away from just buying a Nexus 4.

Anyone got any step by steps how to truely flatten the device and start fresh? Having little idea what 'state' it is in regards kernals, drivers whatever, I think the only option is to flatten and go from there. (right?)

(I've already search XDA, android forums etc but short of registering there and starting a post, thought I'd try here first. We have a diverse bunch here!)

Thanks

Alternatively, I can pick up an iPhone 5 from work, but as they're Vodafone, I couldn't use my EE sim card in it. So, is there an easy way of ensuring everything that is sent to my EE number is forwarded to another number? There are apps that sit on your phone and do this, but as I can't turn the phone on to run this app, that's useless. It needs to intervene on the carrier service level really, not a forwarding service from a phone...

Anyone done this?

haven't got a clue what you're on about mate - best of luck though with whatever it is you're asking.

Have you got another phone that will work with your EE simcard? If you can get hold of one, you can setup the call forwarding from that.

I can't help with the fastboot/recovery problem - I have a rooted HTC Desire running MildWild, I know what you mean but I don't have a clue on how to resolve other than perhaps trying to re-do the 'rooting' of the handset again where you install fastboot and the recovery suite, then wiping the phone and then installing whatever rom you want from the zip file on the sdcard.

Nice idea about the Nexus 4 - very tempted myself but I heard a new version is out in a month or so, I'm not sure whether to wait or not!

Cheers dev,

I've seen the call forwarding, but the SMS seems a dead end unless an app is doing it, which is a no go.

The phone is rooted and I've pushed a recovery a couple times, but when trying to launch it I just get the black screen, no options, no matter how long its been left for. Should never have updated to a nightly build! Take heed! I've been trying to find a nuclear bomb of a flattening process, wipe the whole thing and start again but nothing seems to go that route :headbang:

Why did you installed cyanogenmod on HTC one in the first place? It has official jelly bean update.
You can always try re flash via PC. Get your self flash tool and official version (any) it will erase all old crap from your phone.

It's a One X not One. I don't like HTC Sense, bloated and full of things like Facebook, twitter and they can't be removed!? Hence Cyanogen, just clean google

You can also disable in ICS and later which is almost as good as removing.

That's one of the things that annoys me about the iphone. They presume everyone that has one is a stocks trader.

Yep, or remove the whole Sense crap and run clean Android, although all moot unless I can get the phone to boot again.

Fallback is a Desire HD for now :headbang:
