Anybody tried the 24i/28i

Hi Guys,

Has anybody tried one of the new turbo 4 pots yet? If so what did you think of it? I'm not wanting one, just interested to see how they compare to the lovely N52 straight six that they've replaced!

Cheers. :)

I was told I was "top of the list" for a test drive of the 28i by my local dealer. I haven't heard from him in weeks though lol. Meh, starting to look at a 4 seater for my next car to be honest.

I picked up my 20i 2 weeks ago. BMW insurance thought I had the first one, if you trust them :).

Its a bit more powerful than my old 2litre Z4. The engine sounds meatier and growls more, but thats probably helped by the nice twin exhaust. The turbo whine sounds good as well.

Definately feels bigger and heavier, but its also definately quicker. Certainly a lot more noticeable on the lower gears. Less noticeable in higher gears but I think thats partly the drive of the car, and partly that I am still trying to keep the revs below 4,500 for a few more miles at least. That and the dash keeps telling me to change gear at 2,000rpm for fuel efficiency.

Sport mode on the car definately sharpens things up a lot. All in all loving it.

I need to take some more photos in a dramatic location... My drive doesnt really count as scenic enough.

I am not a fan of red cars but E89's look great in red, there is one 23drive m sport in red which is fantastic, really tempting.

here is a photo:

yep red does, my favourite but it shows the scratches more especially at nigh in street lighting. All except my z4 and celica were red.

Ive been looking over the past few months and have only seen 1 2.0 up for sale from main dealers. I think the 2.8 holding off until all the old 2.3 and 3.0 are gone. Had a good deal last month on both these with 5 to 6K off.

Infact sub 25 K for a 2.3 with 10 milessept 2011 are flooding the used car sales. so main dealers have brough a few at the finace deal to flip them.

thats £30K for 2.8 s drive which I would be looking at.

the 2.0 is the replacement for the 2.3 but is too slow for my liking so would be the 2.8. I have just got a 3.0 picking it up on wed.
