Hi folks,

Checked through the usual parts lists and diagrams but I can't find the OEM number and names for this underside part indicated by the arrow (not my vehicle by the way) I looked under Bodywork, rear axle etc but didn't see it..
It seems to be a sort of light alloy but I can't be sure... Underbody shielding for heat?
This part is a bit crappy on my Z4 so it'll be on my list of items to replace when I can get vehicle lift access and parts delivery becomes easier again...

Thanks in advance guys...

Mark

Thanks folks.... Your Z4M is an E89 model? (pardon my ignorance).... It certainly looks the correct shape but I couldn't fully identify it was an E86 verision looking at some of the drawings... When I search that part number I only get E86 references - although the shape does look correct...

No Z4MR’s are E85’s

It look almost the same as mine from the photo

If you put the 7 digits in real oem you should find it

As we are all grounded at the moment i intend to remove my alloy pan and the v shaped bars and repaint them as they all corrode.

Have only to shake of my aching muscles i have had all week after a day of coughing, i think i have the Vimto version of Corona.

Used Z4 E89 2009 2.3i

And the shape is different to the photo of the car you have posted

That doesn't look the right part for the 23i from my car.
This is 23i part 4. Also seems the same part on the 35i, so fairly std. part.

And the protective runner part 3 can get scrapped.

Morning Sunday stuck at home team,

I lifted the car and took the best photo I could. Space even after lifting is limited on the Z4.

From the photo there is the after piece which is aluminium and the forward piece with is ferrous (magnet test) and this is the piece that interests me (indicated by the arrow).

I can see that this is Part 51717199654 Body brace plate..

The rust is light and maybe I should just do something to it? Tips? Or is it cheaper replaced.

What is the last 7 digits of the VIN for this car

Your signature suggests E89 picture an E85

Last 7 digits of my VIN are .....E345032. The photo taken was of my vehicle a 2009 E89 23Sdrive.... You'll note the date and time on the photo stamp...

The photo at the beginning of tbhis post was one I found online and is (not) the same as I since found out after taking a photo of my car and not relying on memory..

Just remove it and have it shot blasted and powder coater or painted

Thanks, yes I think it might be simplest.... With the lockdown going on I'm looking at things to do to amuse myself. I don't have a shot blaster though.. :D
