After selling my set of 224's because of no space I then went and bought somw winter wheels and tyres for my 1 series yesterday  :headbang:

So I need to come up with a storage solution other than the conservatory which is where will will be over winter along with my 224 wheels until Bing wants them.

So best I can come up with are these as they will get them off the floor so won't take up any room.

Have a feeling the blue one is home made so would rather pay the little extra for a better produced item.

Also what fixings would you use to fix to thermalite breeze blocks (the lighter type)

Interesting - I'm also looking at storage options for the summer wheels, although in looking for a more vertical solution.

Re fixings. I'm using these at the moment, seem to hold well:

Mmmmmmmh 4 Wheels and tyres with rack? In thermalite block? not sure if that will be a goer as the total weight will be quite High .
You may have to strap the wall top to bottom with sectional timber to spread the weight and fix the rack to the timber?
What about a wheel tree or do you need the floor space?
The first rack looks more robust to me btw

No space on the floor, but I may have other options. May even check with PVR, but he will probably have an ulterior motive. :?

I have a last received my winter wheels to go with the winter tyres I bought a few weeks ago.
Local tyre dealer fitted tyres to wheels and swapped summer set over for winter set all for £47.
They are also storing my tyres for free until I'm ready to swap them over again.
Selecta Tyres in Rugby - they have a number of branches around - sadly, none in the SE of England.

I imagine there must be others in SE who would offer this service. I wasn't looking forward to storing them in my garage.

Problem with that is one way or another it costs. I can easily change my wheels so refuse to pay for that. I will find space at home one way or another.

Taz I agree and have already thought about getting my dad to weld me one up.

On Thermalites You will need to resin bond some studs in...if you look on the Screwfix website and type in resin bonding and studs you will get a few options..I would use the M12studs 135mm with a 300ml resin because that will fit in a standard mastic gun...

Dead easy to do ..just drill a hole pump 3/4 fill with resin push the stud in and an hour later bolt up..

Don,t laugh but have you a loft ? Its where my dad keeps his winter/summer wheels . Obviously its properly boarded out .
He also has a pull down mini stair going up but i still give give him a hand

You're more than welcome to throw them in my garage for at least 6 months but I don't know how far away you are.

I think Bing should just buy them now then the problem goes away :)
