Anybody else work stupid hours?

Average 70 hours per week; presently only 6 of those are travelling, but that's zed-commuting so can't count as work :D

Working stupid hours! Hmm. I guess I have it all wrong, I'm stupid and don't work any hours at all. :D

In reality. As my wife works in Germany for the US government. We are subject to SOFA (status of forces agreement) which states that I'm not allowed to work on the German economy. The right to work is afforded to German citizens and me working in Germany is seen as taking a job away from a German. Which is the correct policy.

Not very often but work has all come at once. On wed I worked 9-5 then got home had a break for an hour and worked on my freelance work. Worked solidly until 6am :( still didn't get finished then back to work at 9 then felt like I needed a beer didn't get in till 4am this morn. Shattered!

I average maybe 55-60 hours a week (excl commuting time 45 min each way), but started an MSc last week which is adding about 10 hours on top of that, feeling pretty swamped at the moment.

One day a week I am currently working in Rotterdam, up at 5am for a flight and get back in around 10pm, Wednesday's are always a bit of a slog.

That said, I am on the verge of a very big change (in the same firm), which could see my lifestyle dramatically changed from July. :D

Currently 5 weeks into an 11 weeks contract that sees me flying to Dublin early every Monday and back Thursday night.

Car service runs me around so they can max my work time :(

Relentless pace with all the joys of contract work

I did this for 3 years! Monday morning get a taxi from derby to birmingham airport, back thursday night.

Now i go to dublin once a week, leave derby at about 6am drive to birmingham fly 8.15am back 17.45... And drive from birmingham back to derby... For about 8.15pm!

Well if you go out on a Monday anytime I'll be on the 8.15 too.

Over the last 12 years I have been at my current job, I have probably barely averaged 30 hours a week. What's good is the way my salary works is I get 40 hours pay, except if I work over 40 hours then its overtime. Really beneficial for myself.

The way my work is as an engineer, I basically babysit the equipment (flight simulator) and wait for it to go wrong, if it doesn't go wrong and they finish using it we go home. A few years ago I had it for 4 months were I had 1 week in 3 completely off :) . Take this week for example, I didn't go in on Monday, Wednesday and today and did approx 3 hours total in the other 2 days.

My hours are stupid but in a good way :)

Well done sir.

I'm currently working 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts. Up at 0430, leave house at 0455 arrive at 0530 get the hand over for official start at 0600. Start handover again at 1730 for 1800 finish and 45mins drive home.

Then the dreaded nigthshift, leave home at 1640 to drive in for 1730....as above!!

Goes by in a flash though, never used to mind night shift but doesn't seem to agree anymore now in 40!! Feel like s++t for 2 days then the beer kicks in!!

Gives me plenty of me time during the week which is a bonus, so not all bad. :)

Ah the joys of retirement. Up at 8am for leisurely breakfast, read the paper, then as blue sky and no wind for once this year disconnected the Z4MC from the ctec moved the 330D out of the way and went for a little blast for the first time in several weeks - apart that is from the Gran Turismo 6 version though a heavily modded E46 CSL is my usual choice there.
