Anybody else go for a drive today?

Yep, put some serious miles on the Zed this weekend. Up to Bude Fri evening for a surf. Then across Dartmoor yesterday to pick Mrs G up from Exeter airport, after her shopping trip to Dublin. Then Off to Bude again today, via a diffident route, for more surf.

Edd (Son) followed Friday and Sunday in his 206 GTI. Still cant keep up with his old git though. :wink:

Tank and a half of gas, roof down every inch of the way, cracking weekend. :driving: 8)

I went from clitheroe up the through the trough of bowland to Lancaster and then on to the lake district. It was fantastic to finally get a nice day to get the roof down 8) 8)

Nice road that from Clitheroe to Bowland, I usually stop off for a brew or a bite to eat either at the little cafe or the pub in Waddington - or carry on to the little cafe at Dunsop Bridge (in fact the shot of my bike below is taken almost outside of it). Lovely area that and I count myself very lucky to live within striking distance of sooooo many great driving roads on my doorstep. The North West is superb, we can head out to Wales, Lancashire forests and moors, The Lakes, Derbyshire or the Dales / moors all within an a hour or so. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

Looks like you had slightly better weather than I did on Thursday though

Drove from my place over to Desford to see the Richard III procession.

Great drive through some lovely countryside, good day for it and top down all the way.

If you hadn't have turned left at Clandon and instead turned onto the A25 for 2 miles you would have found the best stretch of road in Surrey (Newlands Corner stretch). Give me a message next time, always enjoy an impromptu hoon

What roads specifically Steven? It would be nice to put together a Surrey meet incorporating some of these roads, so any ideas you have would be good. Will definitely give you a shout next time, and please do the same your end

The A25 past Newlands Corner, then take the back roads through to the (would have to look up the exact route) A272 and back up the A283 / A286 and possibly past Goodwood, great little route

There are some great roads around the A281 and Dunfold too. (Well great for Surrey.....it's hardly the Lake District)

I've got a friend who lives in Slaidburn just over waddington fell, so I am always over that way and there is some fantastic roads. I usually work weekends so it was lucky to get a day off in the sun! I often go up past skipton and off up in to North Yorkshire

We went out in around Surrey in the rolling countryside and lovely sunshine. Where were both the Zed's? At home.... it was sunroof open as we had my brother and his gf with us and the spaniel so it was all out in the 3 series! Don't know why we bother - I only get to drive mine to work each day!

I didn't get a drive yesterday but I did today. Lovely wee blast at lunchtime, roof down and no heated seats too. Thought I better get out in it whilst the weathers nice abd dry and it's all clean

Coincidentally, I'm just editing a video I shot going through Slaidburn on Thursday, I usually stop off there for a wee and sometimes a brew - if the place hasn't been taken over by walkers and cyclists!. I'm often up that way either in the car or on the bike. There are so many places you can strike out to from Slaidburn - great way to kill a few hours.

Perfect day for top down driving. Drove from Preston to Keswick in the Lakes, the drive from Ambleside to Keswick is very enjoyable.
On the way back we stopped for fish and chips at Bowness overlooking Windermere.

Hi
Went for my first to be long run down the west coast, decided to stop of in Glasgow for a coffee, on getiing back to the car. Doors would not open , the buttons came up and you could hear the locks working, but handles would not open the doors. Tried a few things incuding trying to get the hood down via the key discoonecting the battery for a bit, nothing . Called Mr. RAC tried a few thing even a battery boost. Then we tried to drop the hood with the key and he presto it opened. So he explained what he done and said I'll show you , to which I said how about I sit in the car while you try this , Sorry sir we are not allowed in case you get stuck in. The car he then turned the key and the roof closed and it locked its self up again . One embarised Rac man .

Thought I'll have a go grabed the key press, the button and it all worked. Dropped the hood signed the Rac form and fled right home.
I think its the body control unit 5 ?

Fist call on Tuesday arrange to get the relays fixed, so its now siting with battery disconnected and the doors open till I get round to sorting this out ,And just for good measure the bonnet wont open, apart from that I enjoyed the run.
On the whole the RAC man was extreamly helpfull and we were both laughing as it was like a comedy sketch.

Hi yes thats who i was going to use ill be contact him on tuesday with a view to sending my unit down , I changeing the relays my self but this way it looks like it can be checked before it comes back.
