Any Z4M Roadster owners around Yorkshire

A bit of a long shot but here goes...

Just wondering if any Z4M Roadster owners around Yorkshire who've not taken their cars off road for the winter would have any spare time for a natter and if possible to offer a short passenger ride to a would be z4M owner.

I recently purchased a 57 plate 2.5i in really good condition (49k) miles, I was originally looking at 3.0 and Z4m but nothing suitable was coming up and couldn't let the 2.5 go once I'd seen it and was getting a bit impatient to be honest.

I love the 2.5i (done over 250 miles in a week and not as a my daily) but that's just made me want an M even more, however I've never seen/heard an M and would love the opportunity to experience one even as a passenger before letting the 2.5 go, as i know I'll struggle to drop on another in as good a condition but would need to sell the 2.5 to be in the best position should an appropriate M come up.

As I said long shot, but if you don't ask. I've kept an eye out for meets but they seem to be down South or Wales :(

Thanks
Andy

Not running the roadster but I am based in Sheffield with no plans to take the car off the road for winter and I don't need much of an excuse to get out for a run in it - funnily enough I ended up having to go to Wales for mine and had only driven the standard 3.0 coupe but as you suggest was looking for a little more hence the M

I'm not far only in Barnsley so would be great to go out for a run. Love the look of the coupe and I've just seen one tonight on my way home but dont believe it was an M.

The forum that keeps on giving!

All I would say to you Andy is if you do go in an M, be prepared to want one!

I already really really want one, just after the final piece of hearing one to seal it and then let the hunt begin. :driving:

Without wanting to sound too critical of your choice OP you did set out to buy a Si or M car then bought a 2.5i ( not even the Si)
A great car no doubt but unlikely to woo you through the gears or ears
Get it up for sale , in the meantime testdrive a 262bhp Si & a S54 ///M , factor in the costs to buy / costs to own then make your decision . You aren't the first to join up then upgrade soon after so crack on & get it done

Hi Andy,

There is a nice SI at German Motors in Leeds- if you are looking to test drive another SI.

Might be worth a look. They are a nice bunch down there.

Don't bother about calling them about the coupe. I am picking it up tomorrow :?

I kept looking at this one but not a big fan of light interiors, and was higher miles than I was after, I spotted the coupe as well which looked really nice. I'm now contemplating not worrying about the interior and getting it retrimmed if necessary as if I swap it would hopefully be a keeper. Just not sure if the finish would be as good as oem.

Good advice there!

Last year I decided I wanted an E91 as a daily and bought a 325i - mainly because 330is were nearly twice the price! :o

Earlier this year I swapped the E91 325i for an E90 330i and the 330i is just so much better to drive.

OK neither is a Z4, but I can't help thinking you'd notice a huge difference trying a 3.0Si after a 2.5i seeing as you would get another 88 PS according to BMW figures. And seeing as both have the N52 engine, running costs are going to be pretty much the same.

An M would give you nearly twice the power of a 2.5i, but probably nearly twice the running costs so it probably comes down to whether you feel the extra performance justifies the extra cost. Head v heart sort of decision!

I'm in Rotherham if you want to have a closer look at an e86 coupe (?)

I really appreciate the offer, I'm currently trying to arrange to see a M Roadster that's up for sale so will let you know if that doesn't pan out. Thanks.
