Any proper wiring schematics available other than WDS

In my experience, cd's off ebay have little or no wiring diagrams. Although, thinking positively, this one MAY be diffferent.
You are right about WDS. Very clumsy to use.
Even Autodata is useless with z4's.
Good luck in your search though.
Andy.

Glad to see someone agrees with me re WDS. I have asked the seller the following question and will see if I get an answer:

"Hi Could you tell me, the wiring diagrams are they BMW WDS? I don't find WDS any good at all. Are they traditional schematics? Could you possible send me/show an example of the wiring diagram for a particular system, e.g: lighting, audio system, central locking, hood motor. Only need to see one so I can compare with WDS before I buy."

Will wait and see the reply and let you know.

It is sh!t, isn't it?!

(warning: nerdy stuff coming up)

It's all very noughties - frames and japplets. I'm not a dev but I know it would be easy enough to convert something like WDS into JS/HTML5. It's all just static content. You wouldn't even need to finder a converter, you could just scrape it into JSON directly and then expose it via one of the many decent HTML5 frameworks for simple web sites.

I think the wds as we know it is ported from a unix system, way before html5 was around.
Yes its a pain to use if you dont know how but at least this info is available. For most brands this info hasnt leaked out of the official brand's network. And that alone makes it quite unique.
But indeed nobody took the task to put in the efford to fabricate a better interface for free.

In ISID the wds is also integrated in a different interface, but with the same schematics.
