Any Plan Drawers out there ?

Ive got a bit of property development going on and need some previous plans amended.

The bloke who did them before has disappeared so I cant go back to him. Its something I fancy learning myself so I wondered if theres any free software out there anyone can recommend as a starter, without going the full 9 yards and down the line of expensive full blown CAD just yet ?

Any advice appreciated. :D
 
I have used google sketch up for basic plans. Once you get into the structural drawings you will need something better such as Draftsight - is free and has good support.
