Due to an on going problem with the zed and my Samsung, I'm making the leap into iPhone land next week.

I've got shed loads of names etc on my old Samsung Galaxy and can't seem to find an easy way of transferring them onto the new apple phone.

I don't fancy sitting typing them all in again. :(

I think you can bluetooth all your contacts from your Samsung galaxy in one go.. I did it on my S2 when I went to S4

One of my mates went from blackberry to iPhone couple of years back & I think the t-mobile store transferred then all over with a gadget instore if that helps?

I don't believe it preserves all the data under a contact (email, website, picture etc)

OP, your best bet would be to sync your samsung with your computer and then sync the iPhone (it will also double as your backup)

Just use Google?! Your contacts have probably already sync'ed to your Google account. When you get your new iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add your Gmail account. enable contacts for that account. Et Voila... You should now find that all of your Google contacts are there.

You could use an app called bump, install on both phones and you can transfer contacts, photos and other stuff. I found it the easy way to transfer over.

I did it through the vodaphone store. Depends if you're on vodaphone though?,

I'm on THREE :( I hope they do a similar service - The problem is I'm buying the phone from a pal , so they are not making any dosh other than a continued sim only contract.

This seems to be the approved method - Can the iPhone 5 use more than one email account? I don't often use my gmail account other than for my contacts etc.

You can always remove the Gmail account once the contacts are sync'ed ;-)
