Any other photographers?

Given that we all love our cars and most will take regular photos, I wondered if there were any other serious amateur photographers in here.
I've been trying to shoot seriously since I got my first decent point and shoot camera back in 1993. Since then I've had multiple SLR bodies, countless lenses and have gradually moved to digital over the years. Been fully digital since about 2003. Right now my arsenal comprises the following
All Canon unless noted otherwise
Bodies - 7d, 6d, 5dsr, R6 mkII
Lenses - 50mm f1.8, 50mm f1.4, 15mm f2.8L fisheye, 24-70mm f2.8L, 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L, 2x Teleconverter, Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2, Tamron 17-35mm f2-8-4 G2, Tamron 90mm macro
And a selection of filters, batteries, two Lowepro bags and a Tamrac trolley bag for good measure.

I've attached a few photos I've taken of cars, pets and other stuff.

Any other shooters in here? What do you shoot? What equipment?

Yep, in last few years a I have rediscovered working in the darkroom with black and white film and printing, something I learnt years ago.
Have a mix of digital and film gear.

Great pics, and shows how much cameras have come on.

I did for a while. Used to have a Canon 350D (which was the staple back in the day lol).

Ultimately couldn't be bothered carrying the equipment around, and sold it on ebay. Especially given the advances in phone camera technology.

Couple of pics from Goodwood 10 or so years back, just because...

I ditched film after a holiday around 2000/2001 when it cost me around £3-4 per roll of film to buy (approx 15 rolls) then another £55 to get them developed.
Decided then, that I really had to make the move to digital completely.

I had a Digital Rebel as my first DSLR. I think that was the equivalent of a 300D in the uk (my camera was bought in USA). I prefer carrying the gear around to ensure a better photo and as much as phone cameras have improved, I think it's easy to get caught up in a megapixel race when in fact, the lens is probably a bigger factor. As is having a polariser fitted.

Yes MP race is a daft one, for images A4 size you really need no more than 12MP or something!

I just gave up charging it up, carrying it around, the taking it out, putting it back, messing around was just not worth it in the end for casual photos - I think if I wanted to publish online then definitely yet DSLR, but for my own recollection and enjoyment, phones do the job and are better for snapping that spontaneous moment where getting a DSLR out of its bag and firing it up I would have missed it.

Certainly wouldn't use film for holiday snaps, actually often just use my phone now such has been there improvement.
It's just for dedicated photo trips, also playing with medium format and bought an old Bronica.

Yeah, former ARPS here, did a bit of freelance stuff as a bit of fun, it was hard work and didn't make a lot of money at it but I could get some tax relief on my gear and film costs :-)

I was into Olympus stuff back in the day, (early-mid 80s) had an OM10 then OM2n and OM4, with assorted lenses, I had a nice darkroom in the garage so could handle mono and colour with a Nova deep tank system.
Sold the OM4 and made a jump to Bronica for a couple of years, (medium format slides sold better through the slide library!) before making a switch to AF moving from OM to Minolta and finally switching to digital when I got a Nikon DSLR and sold off the Bronica. Sold off the darkroom kit at the same time.
These days I've got a Nikon D7100 a few assorted lenses and a lovely Sony RX100 that's great for shoving in a pocket and has a bit better quality than my phone. I mostly photograph my dogs and my local scenery now, luckily I live in a scenic area.

I am told by a friend that there was / is a photographer on here that took some amazing photos of cars with scantily clad models draped over them?

Don't know if it was true, just relaying what I was told

Always loved photography. Recently branched out into astrophotography which is proving to be one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever tried :)

Some seriously good photos, highly enjoyable to view them.
Tom Scott is/was a professional on the forum for many years who used to contribute but don't hear much from him of late.
