We were thinking of Flaine to ski after loads of seasons in the Three valleys
We are both experienced skiers but this year I fancy a shot at snowboarding :o I spend most of my summer months wakeboarding and have had a few shots at snowboarding but not a full week.
So any opinions or info would be appreciated.

We went to flaine a few years ago. Weather was really bad for us and there was only a drag open for the first few days. Very frustrating. The town is not very picturesque, like a concrete block town. Not much in the way of bars either and very very expensive. 7 beers and 2 cokes was around the 80 euro mark in the first bar. We did stay in fantastic duplex apartments. Indoor and outdoor pool. Sauna and steam etc. about half a mile out of the main town but ski in and ski out. If the lifts are open that is. Personally I wouldn't return there but a friend of mine goes to le carroz most years and he says it's a much nicer village and still accesses the same pistes.

We been going to Bulgaria for the last few years now. Cheap as chips and not bad skiing with a great nightlife.

Skied there about 7-8 years ago on a very cheap boys week away. Ski area is impressive with miles of reds and blues- highlight being the 25km plus blue off the top which takes you into the other valley and you have to get the bus home.

It is not pretty as it's 50s and 60s concrete - there are some good restaurants and I can't remember it being anything like as expensive as the trois Valle. We had a good week with neilson - but I've not been back since. More because I've had family working in Courchevel since.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I have a difficult call to make
Its a pretty good deal which had attracted us as after breaking my collar bone in January I wasnt planning on skiing this next year but recently started to get the urge.
If the weather is ok the ski area looks decent. :?

Ski area is fantastic from memory and we got a heap of snow the year we were there - yes it's ugly but so is Tignes. If you want to Ski it's great really ..,,, oh and I forget there is an Ice a Driving school which I did which was :driving:

As long as the mountains are beautiful (they usually are) then I am not too bothered about the resort. Found another problem still no snow there! zilch! :o
