I'm going to take my Melbourne Red Z4 35i off the road before the snow and salt arrives and rest it up till the spring. I do however need a car to replace it for the winter for nipping in to town and such like. Has anybody got any experience of owning a Smart car. I've been to see and drive one, and it was better than i though but when driving it a manoeuvring speeds i thought the steering a tad heavy, When my wife drove it she immediately commented on the heavy steering, so that knocked that on the head.
I have since discovered that PAS was an option that not many have and that it would appear that when sellers advertise the car for sale they just state it has power steering when it hasn't ! In fact one dealer said that he had sold at least 50 smart cars and all has PAS (not true)
I only want to spend a couple of £K with a max at £2.5k. there are lots and lots available, mostly with high mileage.
Currently my Z is 13,000 miles and 3 years old in March next year and i would like to keep it pristine for some time yet.
I would appreciate your feed back regarding the Smart Car ownership experience / problems / foibles etc.
