Any ideas what’s causing this whining sound? 3.0i E89

I've tried using an obdii to check if there's any fault problems that could lead to this sound but it's not showing any. the whine sound is constant even while driving. I think i've noticed that when the I have the top down the sound goes away but im still not sure about that.

Well - it's electronic. You might need to wait for something actually break.....

My car made strange sound............
Then found out it was the dash cam wanting to be reformatted.

lol yeah, its been happening for a few months now (over 6) and still haven't been able to figure it out

Is it an auto box, could it be some warning say not in park?

not sure I understand you well, its an automatic but theres no warning about anything even on the obdii

I''ve tested it out but the sound is still there whether the top is up or down

Did you try listening from the engine bay? It's the type of noise that the throttle body makes when trying to do it's adaptation. You can unplug the throttle body to confirm.

Also put your ear to the door speaker to hear if it's coming from the audio system.

i've tried but the sound isn't from any of them sadly. im starting to think that i'll never know whats causing this annoying sound
