Any ideas on foot pain?

It's hard to know as many things can cause a tender, warm MTPJ - that just indicates that it's inflamed - in your demographic, trauma or gout is the most likely though. You need an experienced eye to be cast and then perhaps bloods and an XR. All else is largely speculation. You can have an acute attack of gout with normal serum urate levels and rheumatoid arthritis without being Rheumatoid Factor positive though. Also, an XR will likely be normal unless you have recurrent attacks, so the experience behind the "eye" is the most important element in making a diagnosis. I presume you have no systemic symptoms (fever, rigors, malaise) nor other concurrent joint involvement?

You're not stretching the rules of a car forum - how can you drive with a gammy foot goddamit?! :D

I'll get an 'eye' on ot today if possible. No systemic symptoms or other joint involvement. Just got through an awful night which felt like hot needles under my nail?! Eased up a bit now but incredibly sore to walk on.

Thanks to you, Ruby and all that have offered up advice. I'll hopefully be sorted soon and back in the driving seat!

Just back from the Quacks. Gout caused by mix of meds I'm on, hot weather, lack of water and a recent leaving party booze fest.

Better that than rheumatoid...
You're in good company - all you need now is six wives and a beard - they might even let you be king!

Edit - although I suspect you have the beard already!

Perceptive, BMWZ4MC. I'll get working on the six wives right away

That’s good. When I saw you’d posted again in this thread, I thought it might be time to dust off and sharpen my amputation knife.

As an aside, in the ten years from 1533 - 1543, Henry VIII ended his marriage with wifey number one, then progressed through four others before marrying his future widow. I wonder how many people on this forum can say that they’ve had so productive a decade?!
:chophead:

Well, he only lived till 55, so everything had to get a move on

More useless knowledge from your recent 'test'?

All that lovely knowledge is a great party asset, but strangely enough I never get invited again :o
