Mrs. J. Has a new Citroën C1 she uses for work. She's complained the clutch judders when setting of. I thought it was just her driving but I've been driving it tonight and.........jeesh. no matter how you attempt to set off it feels like the clutch plates are bleedin corrugated and the gearbox is about to shake itself apart. It's done less than 4k miles. Any ideas anyone please.

Sounds like a worn clutch though. Was the car bought new? My mother in law destroyed one in a few thousand miles ….

We've had two of the old shape C1 variants from new, the clutch went with broken friction plate in the first car at about 16k miles and was not great on the second when sold at 18 months old. Google C1 or 107 clutch and be ready for tales of clutch-woe from only a few thousand miles and lots of warranty dodging :(

They were supposed to have fitted an up-rated clutch in the later models as used in the Aygo but some reports still suggest they are made of cheese. It's all made worse in the new models which can suffer an epic flat spot (emissions related like the Fiat 500 debacle) at pull-off meaning you over-rev and slip the clutch to get it away. We really liked the cars but this issue stopped us buying another.

Hhhhmmmm. Cheers for that guys.......The car is a brand spanker latest version of the C1. It does seem like the clutch is fubar'd....

So I guess its back to the lease company after hols. Mrs. J. works for the NHS so the car is leased and shouldn't have any issues with warranty and the like....

Again thanks guys......knew there'd be some knowledge on here...
