I found this part in the trunk of my car and and after a long search, I have not been able to find where it comes from. Maybe someone has an idea? thanks in advance

Can't say I've ever seen that bit, and I've had the roof mechanism apart and all the panels out in mine, so I'd say it's not from an E89

Does it screw into the inside edge of your tailgate perhaps?

Nope, that is not an E89 'trunk' piece IMO.
