Hi all,

Last week I was invited to the local driving range by a client and really enjoyed it. Decided to take up the sport and yesterday bought myself a set of irons, not knowing anything about golf/clubs I would welcome any feedback from those who do on how good or bad these clubs are.

Also how does the z4 cope with a set of clubs fitting in the boot?

New clubs:

I know more about betting on golf than playing it, but I'm sure Taylor Made are a decent make

I have done the Golf thing back to front - I played a lot when I was younger, now I'm getting on a bit I've stopped playing.
You can't go far wrong with a set of TaylorMade

Taylormade are a pretty big brand in golf and are part of the adidas empire - sponsored a number of big name golfers.

The thing to remember about golf clubs is to buy something that Is in line with your handicap I.e. No point buying a set of forged bladed clubs designed for Mcilroy to be able to work the ball when we are starting out.

Like everything there is s new model out every year each claiming to improve distance, feel, amount of rain on the golf course!

I would play as the odd fair weather golfer in summer, judging by fitting the convertible windshield comfortably in the boot I'd say the club's would make it in vertically or horizontally fine.

I'm always a fan of clubs that give a nice feel and get me to par consistently, as for what brand and advice I'm sure like anything the brand names are pricey and yet may not be best comfortable for everyone.

Used to play a lot - can't go wrong with Taylormade stuff. Enjoy and don't get disheartened if you have a bad round. Golf messes with your mind like no other sport I've ever played! It's more a battle with your self than it is the course :)

Cool, was a little worried a set my not fitting in, happy to hear they will.

The dealer said the clubs are good for people playing off a high handy cap and are very forgiving.

Off to the driving range tomorrow so will give them a go :)

The dealer is right. The TM irons you've bought have a decent cavity back and will help you hit the ball better.

I play a lot and my E89 will take my Powacaddy trolley, battery, shoes and a full size cart bag in the boot. Unfortunately the roof won't go down though. Bag goes in passenger footwell if the sun is shining!

If your alone then a set of clubs and trolly is no problem for the Z4 boot.
Must agree, Full set and electric trolley in the boot but you will have to take the woods out and fit them in last. If you want the top down then the trolley will go in the boot but the clubs will have to go on the passenger seat.

I play regularly and my full set go in the boot with trolley and roof down. Only thing I would say is get the golf pro at your local course to give you some guidance. Driving range and course differ immensely so some helpful hints from the pro should help

My clubs would fit across the back allowing space for the roof to come down, I don't have the biggest golf bag.
350z use to have a sticker showing how you could fit 2 golf bags in the boot, I think they were being very optimistic.

I played a lot when I was a younger man and worked shifts , but then kids came along ruined my regular 3 rounds a week !
Now I stay away because knowing you could once play and no longer able to hit a decent score is way too frustrating.
You've either got to get back in or leave it alone. There's no in-between !

The Pro once told me during a lesson that I needed about 1.5" cut off the shafts of my 3,4 & 5 Irons. I asked if he thought that would improve my swing a lot . He said "No, But it will allow them to fit in the bin easier and get still the lid down" !!
