Hi guys,

Just wanted to know if anyone else here is into their fitness [serious] I am a 5 day a week type of guy.

If you are wanting to get into fitness and are not sure where to begin and need help with supplements I would highly recommend buying this.

http://www.olympushealth.com/olympus-health-mass-gainer-bundle.html

I have just finished my first lot of this and the gains have been excellent coupled with intense training...

for the uneducated you would consume 2 scoops of the protein blend 30minutes after your workout and also consume 2 tablets of the BCAA's after workout also to aid in muscle recovery. (Branch Chain Amino Acids)

The creatine tablets are optional but some people swear by them. I would take two tablets 1 hour prior to exercise with a pint of water.

:D

I'm a 3-4 times a week kinda guy but have been looking to add some supplements to my workouts to boost the results.

I shall certainly have a read of this. Thanks.

I don't bother with muscle builders / supplements - its simply not sustainable and you will return to your natural size, bulk, once you stop taking them

stick to the chicken, veg and water

I used to go 5-6 days a week, and supplements which aid recovery make a huge difference. I couldnt do the same muscle set more then twice a week without them. However for size i agree with Ranski... Once you stop you do lose the size pretty quick - i havent taken anything in over 6 months now and my old tshirts certainly are looser now (except around the waist  )

I don't rely on supplements but they certainly do help coupled with a balanced diet.

Pretty happy with my progress this year but could drop another 1-2% bodyfat to be where I want to be :D

Supplements make a hell of a difference and I cannot understand why you are saying that you lose size if you don't take them.. Are you taking gear? That is the only way I could see that you will lose muscle when not taking it.

You need protein to build muscle, supplements are a convenient and quick way to get protein and other nutrients to your muscles. Once it is in there the muscles use it and get bigger (simplified but effectively what happens). Therefore if you keep eating and going to the gym whether you are using supplements or not you will keep your size.

The only difference to this is if you use a lot of creatine monohydrate which can cause water retention and therefore make you look bigger. If you stopped taking creatine you may think you are losing muscle mass but you will actually just be losing water. This will level out over a week or so of not taking creatine.

I have been going to the gym training with heavy weights for over 10 years. 300kg dead, 220kg bench, 200kg squat. I have had periods using lots of supplements and periods not using any. Only saying to try and back up my knowledge.

That stack looks good Brad, I will have a look at it on next bulk. Thanks

I used to use the gym quite a bit and found supplements helped bulk and recovery. I just don't have time these days

But all the building work keeps my manly figure ( man boobs manageable and the beer belly just small enough) at the moment. Next building project is a BIG summer house/gym at the bottom of the garden. Hopefully have time for 3-4 workouts a week. And I need to start cycling to work again so should clock about 100 miles a week then.

I lost 2 stone in weight due to illness earlier this year. I'm getting back to training now and I'm on the Maxi Nutrition Progain Extreme. It's working we'll and I'm nearly back my usual weight.

I'm not arsed about dedicating myself to a fitness programme, but do like keeping in good shape.

I used to run 30k-40k per week last year and plan to get back into running soon.

That's my theory, a minimum five times a week at the gym supported by diet alone.

I've seen great results although granted it has taken longer to achieve than some training buddies who are big fans of supliments. Each to their own, the primary thing is getting in the gym and being healthy

big fitness freak here, 5 days a week, boxed competitively since i was 18 :-)

eat a good diet , however supplement with juice plus..... very very good stuff, my body is completely shredded, its a lifestyle for me, as I'm getting older however I'm feeling more and more tired from the training......

Hand up!
5 x week. Diet since Jan is 'Any calorie is a good calorie'! Putting on some decent size. One of those people who is naturally low in fat!
Supp shake (500 cals and 35g protein) twice a day (one mid day one after training in the evening)
Pre work out mix before training for a little more energy!
BCAAs twice a day
Daily Multi Vitamin
ZMA before bed
Job done!! :D

Don't be turning this into gaydar Ruby! Haha. No offence intended BTW (politically correct and all that ) haha.

Yes used to be a 4-5/week and was in reasonable shape. Lapsed over the last year but picking it up again. Creatine I've found increases recovery time, really did at uni when we were hitting the gym every night. When we were skint and ran out, I'd ache like hell and couldnt do much the next day.

But I now just stick to eating plenty of protein, job doesn't allow for little and often during the day :-(

The gyms round Newbury I've found to be crap and I miss everywhere else that I have lived. So much so I've got my own gym in a downstairs spare room now, not huge amounts of weights but enough to get over 100kg on a bar which is fine for me as I'm a dwarf. Well not literally :-) obviously. But keeps me ticking over nicely.

Go on then Brad ... Fancy sharing your routine???

Unless that's a typo you have unusual 1RM figures. If you can bench 220kg but only squat 200kg you must be all upper body strength and neglect legs.

200kg squat isn't to be taken lightly by any measure, but a 220kg bench I would think would put you closer to 300kg squat, if that level of strength was across the whole range.
