Any Dentists on here?

Ow. I did a very similar thing many years ago, I really sympathise.

I ended up with the two front teeth being removed and a bridge built across the gap anchored to the teeth either side. It's been there about 30 years now and looks OK and never given me any trouble. These days implants are available but come in at about £1000 per tooth.
 
Veneers are pretty strong - they'll last up to 10 years. I guess every dentist is different, but mine said that the preference was to retain as much of the original tooth for as long as possible, hence why I got veneers not crowns. It's a less invasive procedure too. As for differences, I think there will be as PVR says. If your medical insurance covers private then it's a no-brainer really.
 
Ouch - but glad the rest of you is ok!

Id say there prob is a difference between what you will get offered on the NHS vs private, I have a private dentist. Not sure that veneers would be offered by NHS but you might be lucky!

i did very similar a few years ago

they just capped it and left me with half a tooth for a few months

then i was deployed and had severe tooth ache, they told me to wait till i got home

basically the root was dying so had to have root canal treatment and they capped it....unfortunately my teeth are quite white and the caps gone a bit yellow over time :x

oh well! i still look awesome :lol:

TBH anybody looking at me would think I have been in a severe punch up.

Think I will try the private route, should be cheaper anyway.
 
My dental insurance has no excess, the rest of the private insurance does (is an add-on to the insurance). You sure you have an access there?

Not sure, we have Medical insurance which reading through i believe offers cover. We also have a bolt on policy that offers lot of other things including dental.

Will sort out tomorrow.

I would try the privet route if possible, hopefully your insurance covers it.
I've lost faith in my NHS dentist. Just had two crowns replaced privately as one of the NHS ones didn't even last a year :(
My new dentist makes the crowns on site while you wait so its all done in one visit.

Boss is already calling me the village idiot so no need to move to the states.
