I've broken two of my front teeth today when I had a major off on my mountain bike. One of my very front top teeth and the one next to it.

Hoping medical insurance will cover it, but do I need to do anything urgently or can it wait until Monday to sort?

I don't have the bits, they are scattered over the local forest trail. Face and other parts also in bad way, but they will heal.

My teeth won't though. :(

Eeek... doesn't sound very nice. Hope not too painful. Sounds like you could be looking at a couple of crowns.

Seems to be OK pain wise. Just trying to find out if I need to do anything NOW!

Hospital didn't say anything and I doubt anything could be done straight away. If they give me grief tomorrow I will call my miducal insurance again and try the emergency route.

My test aren't perfect, but they look a mess now. You can see the chipped one, and the half broken one on the left.

Done the same when I was 16 i feel you pain buddy!!

I have porcelain covers cost about £200. I did mine on a Friday had them looked at Monday morning all was fine. But I am no dentist.

All the best mate I know it can be sore!! Are he nerves exposed? Can you eat? I couldn't even breath through my mouth it was so sore!!

First thing when I got home was try some water from a glass, was fine.

Just eaten some dinner using side teeth. Can't open mouth very easily due to facial damage.

But luckily enough, nerves don't seem to be exposed.

They don't seem as bad as what happened to mine.

Sure they will be fine and fixed up  but like I say I am no expert!! All the best.

You could always make him a tooth and put the machine monkey picture on the front o a metal tooth just for him lol just get the measurements

Wow - nasty, hope you're feeling ok, if not better

Not sure what they will do but get to a dentist ASAP I reckon. Looks like they will either have to fit veneers or maybe even crown the one that's broken off half way. Either way I guess you will end up with temporary plastic caps for a couple of weeks. I have two veneers on my front top teeth and the dentist first prepared them (not a very pleasant experience tbh), then he took impressions, then fitted temporary caps. Got the veneers put on two weeks later. Normally a veneer or crown on the NHS is £200+, but if you have more than one done together it is classed as one treatment and so one charge. Of course if your medical insurance covers it you won't have to worry at all :D

One thing though - I am sure they will tell you, but if you do get temporary plastic caps don't eat too many curries for 2 weeks as the plastic stains and goes yellow

Excess will be 150 if i can claim, so hopefully can limit costs.

Didn't hurt at the time and doesn't now, it the rest of me that will heal naturally that hurts.

Could be different in the morning though.

£214 on NHS by the looks, so hopefully that is worst case senario.

Anybody who doesnt know me will easily recognise my smile on Saturday

Ouch,

Just get them crowned or implants and they will be fine, all my top fronts were crowned years ago and have been fine. I had my crowns screwed in which I would imagine is preferable durability wise than veneers or something cemented on. As your front teeth do all the biting etc you don't want any replacements coming out all the while.

Tim.

Same as yesterday.

Would treatment on the NHS be the same as private. My dentist does both, but cant imagine for £214 he will do the same job as private.

Ouch, that is painful.

Re NHS v private, I know that the crowns used are different.
