Any Covid survivors?

Today was a good day! I got out of hospital Sunday after 19 days 10 in ICU. After being weaned off oxygen I was allowed to go home. Lung capacity around 30-40% makes moving and breathing tricky, sitting still fine...,10 steps and I'm flapping like a fish out of water. Once I get home I've got a flight of stairs to deal with. 4 steps..stop for 2 mins until I get to the top. Doc said exercise so I started on the stairs...down 3 up 3 then 4-5-6-7. Thursday 7 was easy...later that day I went down and up full flight in one go... breathing was not too erratic. Friday did it twice. Rested a few hours then thought it's time to venture outside. Picked up the Z4 key and took a slow walk around the corner to see my car looking rather clean..must have been the snow...I wondered if it would start after sitting for nearly a month in the cold....of course it did
Sat there with heated seat on warming the engine then took off up the M1 at 90. That's the most fun I've had this year and put a massive smile on my face. Thanks NHS for getting me on the road and the road to recovery. Being told I'm going to ICU and being asked for a second next of kin really put the frighteners on me. Be safe...keep away from people you don't need to be near...wear a decent facemask...a piece of floral cloth doesn't cut it.

Pleased to hear your recovery story, you sound like a real fighter.

I’ve had covid but thankfully avoided any hospital visit and had nearly a month of bed rest (with some car ticketing thrown in in the recent past).

Today is a good day for you :)

Glad to hear you’re on the mend and hopefully not too long before you feel more like your old self

Jesus  glad to hear you're recovering well. My sister had covid and had a headache for one day and that was it. It's crazy how different the intensity of it can be between different people.

My boss is currently off with covid, suffering with breathlessness and was in hospital getting oxygen, aswell as a couple of colleagues who have pneumonia due to covid. Fortunately I appear to have escaped it so far, although I have had covid symptoms recently, but tested negative. Still suffering with breathlessness and a horrible persistent cough, so god knows

Glad you have beaten COVID. Sounds like you had it bad. Had it myself over Christmas but nothing like you. I hope you go on to make a full recovery

Glad to hear that you have survived this dreadful disease and are recovering, take your own time to recover, do not be forced into rushing.

My father had Covid, suffered zero and I mean Zero symptoms or effects, my neighbour had it and it knocked him about for a month, still recovering slowly as he is lethargic, mind he was out cutting trees last weekend for 30 minutes, he then needed a rest.

Horrible isn’t it mate? Nearly karked it last month with sepsis, then got Covid.

You will be knackered for a few weeks after...even doing a slightly taxing day..... slowly and regularly will get your body back upto fitness, and take good quality vitamins and vit D.

Glad to see people who have been severely affected from this coming through and winning. Is all positive and great to see. My neighbours came down with it this week. Both in their 60's so all the neighbours are keeping an eye out and hope it doesn't involve your situations above. A colleague of my wifes brother, in his 30's and hyper fit and used to run marathons on a regular basis , was struck down with it and can hardly climb stairs at all now. Will be a long battle for him and he is young !!
So all those anti vaxxers can go do one , you have no idea what people who get affected are going through.
Take it easy and get well soon

Really sorry to hear about that Mike. :o

But it's good to hear that you are recovering and have been able to drive your Z4 - hopefully I'll see you some time in the summer, restrictions permitting.

Wishing both you and 1000rr a full and speedy recovery.

Glad to see another survivor out of the woods (ish). Good to hear another member here promoting a natural preventative. Here's my daily dose:

Hopefully this might make people realise this is real and happening. Thanks for posting Michael and 1000rr

I hope everyone make a full and speedy recovery.

Who would have thought just over 12 months ago what the world would have to go through over the next 12 months, it just shows even in this modern age how fragile life can be but thank goodness for modern science.

Tim.
