Ok well me and my partner have 2 adult cats. both female. a few months ago we adopted a kitten, id say she is around 3 months old currently, and we have had her since she was a few weeks.

now the issue is that she hates being touched/stroked and always has. also for the last 2 months one of our existing cats has started suckling her and now completely thinks the kitten is hers! the is causing the kitten to get really fat as the existing cat constantly pesters her to feed and basically won't leave the kitten alone, plus she is eating normal food as well. the existing cat has never had kittens before either! The kitten does not pine for the older cat but the older cat goes insane if the kitten is in another room! its almost like an obsession!

should i leave them to it and leave the kitten to hate people even more. or try keep them apart? as you can tell im not a cat person! its the girlfriend!

get me a dog any day. least they are happy to see you!

Now that sounds proper mental... I'd ask a vet for advice TBH, sounds like a pretty special case.

Awwwwwww, that's not very helpful - I am sure there will be a 'cat' forum, maybe try that to start with, at least you will get cat related replies :D maybe :D

You need to try and keep them apart and get a felliwell plug in device to keep the older cat less stressed the.n slowly let them get used to each other again after she has stopped producing milk and being stressed by the kitten being apart.

It's not healthy for the adult cat or the kitten as the kitten is stimulating milk in the baron queen and therefor the queens natural timing of producing milk is not being implemented as she has not had a pregnancy.

A trip to the vet to get hormone treatment if this doesn't work.

Best of luck from a daddy to 14 of the little lovelies.....

thats some great advice! think we will certainly try keep them apart now!

just a word of warning about the felliwell plug in device they are quite expensive we have a cat that is very stressed panic's when strangers visit and always on guard,we bought one of these plug ins but did not work at all,but made me stressed paying £30 quid for it :(

I would always make sure they each have there own space where they can hide and relax. Give them a feeding routine and stick to it. Then just leave them to sort things out. It will take time and a lot of patience
Advice from the vet to prevent milk stimulation is a good idea.

Thanks for the advice in this. My other 'alf wanted to get one for very similar reasons. I was doubtful but now have some support!
