Any Advice

Looking for a nice Z4 after having had a poor experience buying a Z3 off Ebay (I know) about 18 months ago.

New roof, radiator, full service, rattly seats.... 1.9 so folk didn't want to come and look when I advertised it....

Naturally cautious...... Help!

Welcome on board. The Z4 is generally a little moor robust that the Z3. What model are you chasing?

I Bought mine for around your budget, looked a quite a few and wanted to look at more but didn't have the time to travel to see all that were available. I guess my top tip would be follow your head not your heart. Or if you don't know cars follow someone who know s cars head!

Decide whats important to you. I wanted strong mechanicals and 3.0 litres, wasn't too bothered about spec or colour. Ended up with a car thats been perfect mechanically (almost) for two years. I've upgraded wheels, gearstick and steering wheel and have a car that I'm very pleased with.

I'll be selling in towards the summer and expect to lose a little on my investment but compared to the two E89s I've had what I lose on this will amount to about 3 months depreciation on a new one!

Oh, tell folks where you are, might be someone close thinking of selling

Hi Paul, welcome & I hope you find yourself a nice Z4 in the very near future. I bought mine for exactly that amount last year in the middle of summer & I love it :D
Took me about 6 months to find the right one, a 3.0 roadster, not the best service history stamp wise but plenty of receipts & she's had a few owners. However I could tell she'd been looked after & for me she's the dogs tators
Good luck with your search.

Check the for sale section on this forum, best chance you'll get to find the right car.
For your budget you should get a decent prefacelift 3.0i I think...
Good time to buy as it's still a bit nippy

You may need to travel a bit to find one.

But a good starting point might be the classifieds on here. :) Edit - someone beat me to it!

Good luck with your search, and don't forget the photos once you've found one!

Just a thought OP, as I know it's a bit over your budget, but this one is at least in Scotland!

Try getting it with heated seats and cruise. You will get a really nice 2.5 (no slouch in itself) or a 3.0 with more miles. Look for evidence of a good service history. Go for an intelligent enthusiast, it is usually a pampered car then!
